Artist's Description

An artist group "One day challenge" prompted this painting so I decided to take a non-realistic approach for my Imaginative and Experimental Collection.

Inspired by the Chihuahuan Desert Ocotillos who's stems appear to grow in a rythmic way. One of the easiest plants to identify in the desert they are a large shrub with long cane like unbranched stems that can grow up tp 20 feet. They produce beautiful vibrant flowers when they bloom, typically from March through June.

About Roseanne Schellenberger

Roseanne Schellenberger

Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...
