A southwest themed painting of a mother and her daughter decorating their Christmas tree. This painting is inspired by all of the strong single moms I've known over the years, including my mother. Whatever our circumstances were, she always made sure we had a tree during Christmas.

This is day 2 of a 3 day challenge in which I chose to focus on paintings specifically for my Holiday/Greeting card collection. It's never too early to start thinking about the love, warmth and joy this special holiday brings!

Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...
