I enjoy dragging paint across an entire canvas with a palette knife. It has a completely different feel compared to a brush which I am more accustomed to. I typically will incorporate both tools in some of my paintings, However I chose to use only the knife for this one. Watching the rough scattered edges, layers of texture and broken bold color effect develop from this technique was rewarding and a delightful change.

Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts.
