Artist's Description
I've always dreamed of going to Italy. On the 2nd day of the current 3 day challenge, in which "Anything Goes" is the theme", I took myself there with my paintbrush while I listened to instrumental songs of the area, like Bella Toscana, on my cell phone . I enjoyed exploring the mountainside rolling hills under the blue partly cloudy Tuscan sky. The paint seemed to flow onto the canvas to the beat more freely as I dabbed and created the vineyard landscape. Most enjoyable to paint were the red roof tops and the tall stately Italian cypress trees that are an integral part of the region's countryside. Both adding that sense of romanticism to the scene.
Any other day I probably would have chosen a different color scheme, however due to the time restraints of the challenge I opted to work with paint I already had mixed on my stay wet palette. (which in itself was a challenge) I'm pleased with the results and can't wait to study and paint this beautiful country further!

Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts.
