One of my favorite tools to use is the palette knife which I used throughout most of this painting. I wasn't concerned about making the clouds look like clouds or the details of the landscape. I was focused on the freedom and element of surprise that this technique often results in. I was pleasantly surprised when an unplanned image of a horse appeared on the side of the mountain!
Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...

Somehow I missed this one until today. Very peaceful. It reminds me of the movie “Unbranded” that’s based on a true story. It shows the plight of wild horses as well as their value. Very nice, Roseanne!....Fav / Like
