Artist's Description
Day 2 of the Fine Art America Bird painting challenge.
I often see this busy woodpecker through my kitchen window that overlooks the backyard. It's usually always on the same leaning tree.
There are as many as 22 species of woodpeckers in North America and 12 of them can be found in Texas!
About Roseanne Schellenberger
Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...

That is a great looking woodpecker. A few years ago I had one on a tree too. He just kept pecking at the same spot.

Thank you Lois!
