A mini 8" x 10" acrylic on canvas board for day 1 of the "Bird" painting challenge.
I photographed this cardinal in my backyard several years back perched on a wooden fence in spring. Because of time restraints during the challenge I chose to place him in a simple winter scene. A scene I've been wanting to paint for a long time!
About Roseanne Schellenberger
Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts.
