Artist's Description
A dreamlike imagery of a floating longhorn skull and flower encompassed by waves of mystical energy infused in the clouds and desert terrain.
I chose the elements, surrealistic composition and style to create a piece that fosters silence, solitude, detachment and an appreciation for creation.
Heavily influenced by the works of Georgia O'Keeffe and a trip to Ghost Ranch in 2019, my main objective was to incorporate her distinctive style of utilizing line, color, shape and the blending of realism and abstraction in my own creation.
About Roseanne Schellenberger
Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...

Lovely description for this thought provoking painting, Roseanne. Last February, there was an art show in Tubac named “Shock of the West”. This would have fit in very well there. FAA’s own Cody DeLong was the Juror and Judge for that show. He was also had quite a number of his paintings featured in the Master’s Gallery there....Fav / Like
