Description
It was my last night in El Paso and I was feeling a little sad I had not seen a sunset. The conditions were either not right or I was just too busy with family activities. It was a shorter than normal trip for me anyway so I knew I might not get to do everything on my list. However, I figured that catching a natural occurrence of a beautiful sunset in the big open El Paso landscape would have been easy, requiring little or no planning. I had accepted the fact that it was not going to happen and felt very grateful and satisfied with everything I got to do during my visit. My mother and I were getting ready to leave my sister's home after a wonderful dinner there when my brother in law called me to the front yard. There it was! My sunset!
This is one of the photographs I took that night. I noticed the silhouetted Texas red yucca in front of me and I positioned myself accordingly.
El Paso Texas, also known as the Sun City, is located at the western edge of Texas on the left bank of the Rio Grande. It is the largest city on the Mexican frontier. It's unique desert landscapes are home to the majestic Franklin Mountains and diverse flora and fauna. It's where the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets NEVER disappoint.
