A cloudy blue sky peeks through a grove of Aspen trees in Red River New Mexico. Strong they stand as the almost white bark trees shed their brilliant leaves among  dark green conifers providing a beautiful contrast throughout the landscape. The quaking aspens in North America grow in groups called stands. It is considered a singular organism with the main life force underground in the extensive root system. Symbolic of endurance and resurrection, the aspen is noted for it's ability to regenerate.
Fall is one of the best seasons to visit Red River New Mexico. During this time the aspens leaves turn a breathtaking vibrant shade of golden yellow. Another example of why New Mexico is called the Land of Enchantment.

Welcome and thank you for visiting my online gallery! My work is a celebration of my sense of adventure and deep connection I feel with nature. I grew up in the desert region of Texas and have so many fond memories of family vacations to the surrounding attractions including some in New Mexico and Arizona. That might explain why southwestern landscapes are my favorite! I work in acrylics with a combination of brush and knife applications, gravitating towards realism with a focus on color. However, I also like to experiment with a variety of techiniques and styles including semi-abstracts. When I'm not painting I enjoy being outdoors, traveling the open road, hiking the trails, photography and planning the next adventure. -Roseanne...
